Pascal Spothelfer is a senior executive who has spent his entire career in innovation and technology-driven businesses. He currently is the President and CEO of Genome BC, a non-profit corporation that funds and promotes genomics research and innovation in British Columbia and facilitates the adoption of genomics into society. He’s also one of the newest additions to addy’s board of directors.
“I love that addy is changing the way Canadians can invest in real estate by democratizing access,” says Pascal. “The combination of technology, real estate and a strong social purpose make addy a unique emerging company that has the ambition and the potential to shift paradigms in a very traditional industry.”
As a seasoned leader known for bringing forward innovation and commercialization at the intersection of industry and academia, Pascal helps to shape the business operations at addy and to set addy up for sustainable growth.
“Vancouver is an amazing place to live and faces the same real estate challenges other highly attractive cities have. Providing alternative real estate investment opportunities and funding sources will help alleviate these issues ” Pascal along with the rest of the team is committed to breaking down barriers to entry and finding new ways to build communities around real estate.
But it’s not just real estate communities he’s interested in, he’s also very engaged with the broader community in the city. Pascal has served on numerous boards and is the past chair of the Board of Vancouver Opera, the entrepreneurship@UBC Advisory Board and past chair of Copperleaf Technologies Inc. He has been an active member of the Young President’s Organization since 1997.
Pascal holds a law degree and a PhD in law from the University of Basel, Switzerland and a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD in France.
