Speaker Bio:
Rebecca started her adult life as a young, single mom and it is here she found her voice in the face of adversity. At the age of 20, Rebecca took a job with a small security business in Kerrisdale. Not only did Rebecca learn how to maximize her daughter’s nap time, she learned what it really means to be committed and follow through. Rebecca’s early years as a single mom raising a family in Vancouver gave her grit, built resilience and drive.
Professionally, Rebecca facilitates programs centered around leadership development. Rebecca is a passionate supporter of families, education and the environment. Over the past five years, she has spent time in Africa working on sustainable leadership programs by partnering with NGOs in the education and ecological conservation sectors.
In 2018 Rebecca successfully ran for Vancouver City Council; she is currently fulfilling her first elected term. Motivated by a core value of community, Rebecca’s conviction and receptivity are now serving our city at large.
