St. George Place

Here are some photos taken by Discord users $urvish and $joelee of the St. George Place (formally known at Avesta). Additionally, $joelee adds: There is a Development Permit submitted for the property directly across from our apartment for a 6 storey rental building by Domus Homes Group and designed by Stuart Howard Architects. Directly behind the apartment is a new high-rise building. This area is known is part of the Central Lonsdale which is famous for its proximity to restaurants, coffee shops, the Lions Gate Hospital, Whole Foods, and a short drive away from the North Shore Mountains or Lower Lonsdale to the south. Final note: as an architect myself, I enjoy seeing the composition of the wooden brackets and beam details supported by the stone columns at the front entrance, as well as the three semi-classical motifs supporting the roof fascia at the top.

Hôtel Château des Tourelles

Discord user $GGGEb provided this awesome update on the Hôtel Château des Tourelles and had this to say: In three words I’d say this: location, location, location – as my wife and I don’t drive I can attest to the fact this place is near many things so long as you are willing to walk just a bit… And sometimes up hill. Not sure about Le Carnival in winter (I’d hibernate if I could), but superb for spring, summer and fall.
