Ontario Moves Forward With 10-Day ‘Cooling-Off’ Period On New Freehold Purchases

Now, if all goes according to plan, a 10-day cooling-off period for purchases of new homes could be in store for the province’s homebuyers in the not-too-distant future. This means that buyers have ten days to fully understand their commitments, secure financing, and arrange inspections, and – should they choose – cancel agreements without facing penalties.
