Canadian dollar edges lower as investors await tangible trade deal progress 

The Canadian dollar edged lower against its U.S. counterpart on Tuesday as Canada’s trade deficit widened more than expected and investors assessed a White House meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

📅 Oct 10th – Canada’s Labour Force Survey (LFS) (employment, unemployment) is released monthly by Statistics Canada. The next LFS report (for September) is scheduled for October 10, 2025 (08:30 ET)

📅 Oct 29th – The Bank of Canada’s Interest Rate Announcement (Bank of Canada)

📅 Oct 30th – The Survey of Employment, Payrolls and Hours (SEPH) / job vacancy data are also released; for example, August SEPH and job vacancy data will be updated October 30, 2025. In the most recent data, Canada lost 66,000 jobs in August, and unemployment rose to 7.1 %.
