About St. Catharines

  • St. Catharines is the largest city in the Niagara region and is strategically located in south-central Ontario, which is 111 kilometres from Toronto and 19 kilometres from Niagara Falls and the United States border. Major employers in the city include District School Board of Niagara (4,700 employees), Niagara Health System Hospital (5,012), Algona Central Corporation (2,098), and Brock University (5,965).
  • St. Catharines is part of the Regional Municipality of Niagara, bordered by the City of Hamilton to the west and the United States to the east. As the dominant urban centre in Niagara, St. Catharines offers a highly skilled labour force and diverse economy with tremendous opportunities. St. Catharines is home to approximately 135,000 residents, with an average household income of $75,679. The City is also home to three public post-secondary educational institutions: Brock University, Niagara College, and McMaster University with a combined student population of 27,000.

Economic Outlook

  • The Niagara Region is a vibrant and increasingly dynamic region of Ontario. The Canadian Real Estate Associated has reported that over the last three years, home prices in the region have increased 47.13%, whereas over that same period, GTA prices rose by 25.30%.
  • New homes account for much of this growth with the Niagara Region Planning and Economic Development Committee reporting that investment in building construction grew by 56% from 2015 to 2018, compared to 19% for Ontario as a whole.
  • Much of the demand has been driven by real estate affordability, and the attraction to many of the beautiful amenities the Niagara Region has to offer; from vineyards and golf courses to trails, and historic sites.
  • At the beginning of 2019, Metrolinx kicked off the Go Train service to the Niagara area, and currently the Grimsby Go Station is under construction. This has greatly opened up the market to commuters who would like to own affordable real estate, but still be within reach of the City for their jobs.

What our members are saying

“It was an easy way to invest some funds in real estate that I would normally not be able to afford on my own. It’s great to be part of something that is creating a new way of investing.”

Klaus / Toronto, ON

“My wife and I are excited to have discovered addy, and invested in a Starbucks location nearby — it’s nice to be able to participate in owning commercial real estate without putting up a bunch of money, and knowing we can drive by it anytime makes it more fun than buying stocks!”

Shawn / Nanaimo, BC

“This is God sent, if you ask me. A chance to own a slice of commercial properties all over the country. An opportunity I otherwise wouldn’t have had had it not been for addy. I can’t thank addy enough. I eagerly await for addys to drop and with each investment, I know I’m actively improving my financial future.”
